Ryan: ‘We’re going to keep going after ObamaCare’

Ryan, however, said the GOP should be going after concessions that  “I know we can get,” like reforming the tax code, means testing Medicare and approving the Keystone XL pipeline.

He said there isn’t a “viable strategy” for repealing the entirety of ObamaCare in the next two weeks.

President Obama has said he will not negotiate about stalling his signature healthcare law. But Ryan said Obama would be more open to debt reduction, through avenues that some Democrats have already embraced.

“He clearly wants to defend his healthcare law,” Ryan said. “We obviously don’t like it. That is a pretty big impasse. But I think he does want to see the economy grow. It is in his interest to see debt reduction.”

In a Wall Street Journal op-ed, Ryan specifically named Medicare reforms, tax reform and increasing domestic energy development. But he did not talk about a strategy to end ObamaCare.

But in his interview, he said, ““We are going to keep going after ObamaCare.”
