Comedian Louis C.K. has canceled his upcoming appearance at the Radio & Television Congressional Correspondents Dinner.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the stand-up comedian announced that he had decided not to be the featured speaker at the 68th annual dinner. According to CNN's Pete Hamby, the comedian's agent said he "just didn't want to do it anymore."

Louis C.K. is the popular star of the FX comedy television series "Louie."

The Hollywood Reporter also noted that a day earlier Fox News host Greta Van Susteren said she would not go to the dinner if Louie C.K. was the featured speaker. Van Susteren called for a boycott of the event, saying the comedian's jokes about women are offensive. She specifically pointed to his comments about former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R).
