CNN, which hosted the debate in Houston, shared images of the moment on Friday morning, showing Cruz and Rubio stepping away from their lecterns to shake hands while Trump and Ben Carson remained at their mics.

Trump spent the night swatting away a continuous stream of attacks on his business record and campaign proposals led by Rubio, who mocked the real estate tycoon for repeating himself instead of providing more details on his healthcare proposal.
Cruz also leveled a series of attacks at Trump, painting him as a liberal and going after an ongoing fraud lawsuit over his namesake university.
