Rush Limbaugh on Tuesday sought to push back against characterizations of Republican presidential candidate Ted CruzRafael (Ted) Edward CruzFormer Trump adviser Jason Miller to join reelection campaign Texas Republicans call on county GOP chair to resign for saying Floyd's death was staged Rosenstein takes fire from Republicans in heated testimony MORE as a "liar" or "nasty" candidate in the GOP race.

"Ted Cruz is not a liar. He's not a nasty guy. He is one of the most honorable people in politics that so far has not been corrupted by it," the conservative radio host wrote on Facebook.
Trump has repeatedly trashed Cruz as a "nasty guy," and both he and Rubio have criticized Cruz's campaign for lies they say started after his win in the Iowa caucuses early last month.
Limbaugh has repeatedly responded to such attacks, including last week when he suggested Trump was focusing on the line of attack given increased support for Cruz.
The conservative radio host has also argued that Democrats fear Cruz more than Trump, noting the businessman's focus on making deals compared to Cruz's no-compromise attitude while in Congress.
"Ted Cruz is [the] only guy that was taking on the Republican establishment of all the Republicans in the race," Limbaugh told his listeners on Monday on the eve of Super Tuesday.
"Well, Trump coming in with the force of his personality upset all kinds of apple carts, including Ted Cruz's," he continued. "But through it all, everybody else in the race and Trump, there still is only one guy who has actively demonstrated opposition to the establishment, and that's Cruz."
Cruz is battling Trump for support among those who identify as "very conservative."
