North Korea on Saturday released a video threatening a nuclear strike on Washington if provoked.
The four-minute video titled “Last Chance” uses computer animation to depict a ballistic missile hitting Washington, followed by a nuclear explosion.
“If the American imperialists provoke us a bit, we will not hesitate to slap them with a pre-emptive nuclear strike,” the video says in Korean, according to the New York Times
“The United States must choose! It’s up to you whether the nation called the United States exists on this planet or not.”
North Korea has made similar threats in the past. The nation recently warned of a nuclear strike against Washington in retaliation for new United Nations sanctions that punished the country for weapons testing.
The video shows what it considers “humiliating defeats” by the U.S. over the years, according to the Times, from the North’s capture of an American ship in 1968 to the shooting down of an American helicopter in 1994.
North Korea in 2013 released similar videos that showed Manhattan being bombed and President Obama and American troops in flames.
