Two men have been charged in connection with this week’s attacks in Brussels that killed 31 and injured 300, BuzzFeed reported Saturday.
One of the men, referred to by prosecutors as Fayçal C, was charged with participation in a terrorist group, terrorist killings and attempted terrorist killings.
He is believed to be the man in the hat seen in footage of the Brussels airport who fled after the Tuesday attack, according to BuzzFeed.
Police arrested him Thursday night in Brussels outside the federal prosecutors’ office.
The second man, Aboubakar A, has been charged with participating in terrorist activities. He was arrested Thursday in a car in Brussels.
"[The] United States is praying and grieving with you for the loved ones of those cruelly taken from us, including Americans, and for the many who were injured in these despicable attacks,” Kerry said after a meeting with Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel, according to The Associated Press.
