The former head of construction at Trump Tower in New York said Monday she couldn’t believe presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump wants to be president.

“I couldn’t imagine him ever doing a job where he would be beholden not to one person but 300 million,” Barbara Res said in an interview with The New York Times.

Res, who supports Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton, said Trump seems to think he can just decree things that a president can’t, noting there are three branches of government that work together.
“I don’t see him getting away with all these things that he says he’s going to do,” she said.
“This is not a monarchy; it’s a democracy.”

Res also said during the interview that she doesn’t think the presumptive GOP nominee has the “temperament” to be president.
She said women are equals, and it’s time he recognizes that.
“I don’t think he has the temperament necessarily for this kind of work,” she said.
“He’s not necessarily, in my mind, presidential material.”
She said Trump changed over the period of time she knew him, though.
The two used to be close, she said, adding that when she first started to work for him, he was more respectful to women and treated her in the same way he treated the men that worked for him. But she saw a change after she left Trump Tower at one point.
“He was a different guy. He was a celebrity; he was big-time. He never went anywhere without a bodyguard,” she said.
“He was very full of himself and overwhelmed by his own success, and he was phenomenally successful at that time. … He was just a different person.”
It was then, she said, that she noticed his treatment of women beginning to change.
Res also said she was “very surprised” by all of Trump’s negative remarks toward women.
“Certainly, I didn’t expect to see what I’ve seen,” she said.
“I don’t like his remarks at all. They’re very telling.”
She said that if Trump is elected president, she doesn’t think he will move the country in a positive direction.
“I think that it’s a direction that’s xenophobic and not women-centered or, actually, anti-women. I just don’t think that moving forward in his direction is moving forward at all. I think it’s moving backward, very seriously moving backward.”
