Maine gov's wife takes side job as a waitress

The wife of Maine Gov. Paul LePage has taken a side job as a waitress to supplement her husband's $70,000 salary, the Associated Press reported

Ann LePage said she is saving up for a Toyota Rav4, adding that being a waitress is "something I've always, always wanted to do."

“Because of who I am and who I’m married to, I want to work extra hard just so I can show them I can do the job,” she said.

LePage, who has been governor since 2011, makes $70,000 a year, the lowest salary of any U.S. governor. The average salary for all 50 state governors was $135,000 in 2015.
