Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick says protesters who ran away from gunfire in Dallas are “hypocrites.”

Five police officers were killed and seven injured when a sniper opened fire during a Thursday protest in Dallas against recent police killings of black men.

Patrick slammed the Black Lives Matter movement in an interview on Fox News on Friday, blaming them for instigating the violence against the police.

"All those protesters last night, they turned around and ran the other way expecting the men and women in blue to protect them. What hypocrites!" he said.

"I do blame people on social media with their hatred toward police," Patrick continued. "I do blame former Black Lives Matter protests. This has to stop."

Dallas authorities said a suspect, Micah Xavier Johnson, died after a standoff with police. He was killed by a bomb delivered by a police robot.
