Dem senator’s name misspelled on convention screen

PHILADELPHIA — Sen. Mazie Hirono’s (D-Hawaii) name was misspelled when she appeared on stage Wednesday at the Democratic National Convention.

The Hawaii senator’s name appeared as “Mazie Mirono” on the giant screen behind the stage inside the Wells Fargo Center as she spoke.

{mosads}Hirono, the first Asian-American woman elected to the Senate, delivered a brief speech in a series of remarks by members of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus.

“I support Hillary Clinton because she is a lifelong champion for women, children, and families,” the Japanese-born lawmaker said.

“With our help, she’ll fight for all families, including immigrant families, in the White House.”
