CNN anchor breaks down while reporting on injured Syrian boy

A CNN anchor broke down in tears Thursday while reporting on a young boy who was injured during an airstrike on the northern Syrian city of Aleppo.

{mosads}“This comes weeks after the last remaining doctors inside Aleppo wrote a letter to President Obama begging for help,” said an emotional Kate Bolduan. “In five years of war more than 250,000 people have lost their lives. That includes 4,500 children in Aleppo alone.”

As Bolduan described the now-viral photo and video of Omran Daqneesh, who was pulled out of the rubble in extreme shock, her voice began to crack.

“What strikes me is, we shed tears, but there are no tears here,” she said, pointing to Omran. “He doesn’t cry once. That little boy is in total shock. Inside his home one moment, and the next — lost in the flurry and fury of war and chaos.”

According to local reports, the five-year-old’s parents survived the bombing of his neighborhood, which activists are blaming on Russia and the Syrian regime.
