Ex-Bush adviser slams 'lunatic' Trump

John Noonan, who also advised 2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney on foreign policy, sent a slew of tweets ripping Trump's answers in an NBC forum on national security and referring to Trump as a "lunatic."
Noonan at one point did credit Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, for addressing "a real problem" of "diminished American prestige overseas," but he said Trump's answer fell short and said Trump "just can't land the punch."
 
Noonan, a supporter of the Never Trump movement, similarly ripped Trump last month as "mentally unfit" to be in charge of the nation's nuclear arsenal. 
 
The Republican also sent several tweets Wednesday night criticizing Democratic nominee Hillary ClintonHillary Diane Rodham ClintonGeorge Takei: US has hit a new low under Trump Democrats slam Puerto Rico governor over 'shameful' comments, back protesters Matt Gaetz ahead of Mueller hearing: 'We are going to reelect the president' MORE, including one saying questions to her were "crushing" that referred to Trump as a "lunatic."
Clinton defended her use of a personal email server while secretary of State, and Trump doubled down on insisting that he has a secret plan to defeat the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria during the forum.
