“Representative West’s congressional and military experience along with his fearless approach to voicing key issues will provide a valuable point of view to the FOX News lineup,” Bill Shine, Fox’s executive vice president of networking, said in a statement.

West narrowly lost his reelection bid in 2012 and said he would not seek to reclaim the seat in 2014. The Tea Party favorite had been running the TV programming unit for conservative outlet PJ Media.

During his short time in office, West delighted conservatives and frequently drew criticism from Democrats for his blunt comments on liberalism and occasionally controversial views.
