The Dalai Lama said he has "no worries" about Trump's election to the White House, according to the AP, and controversial rhetoric during Trump's campaign doesn't concern him.

He also said he looks forward to meeting the president-elect at some point after his inauguration, according to the AP.

In a March interview, the Dalai Lama declined to offer an opinion on Trump.

"That's your business," he said in response to a question about what he thinks about Trump during an ABC interview.

He said he had no right to vote in the U.S. election and noted he doesn't know the "whole background" about Trump.

"Sometimes I feel, oh, too much personal criticism," he said during the March interview.
