Russia’s Foreign Affairs Cmte head applauds Tillerson for secretary of State

Aleksey Pushkov, the head of Russia’s Foreign Affairs Committee, tweeted high praises of Donald Trump’s reported pick for secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, who has very close ties with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The tweet applauds Trump for appointing someone with experience working with Russia.
“Selection of Tillerson is a sensation. This businessmen, by definition a pragmatist, also has extensive experience working with Russia. Trump continues to surprise,” the tweet says, according to a Hill translation.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Tillerson negotiated an energy partnership with Putin in 2011 that could be worth up to $500 billion.
Trump’s choice of Tillerson was reported on Saturday and has since been the subject of much criticism from both parties.
