Bush and his wife, Barbara, who have both been hospitalized.

“Indeed. A spokesman for Bush said Wednesday that the former president was in stable condition after having “a procedure to protect and clear his airway that required sedation.” 

According to the spokesman, Barbara Bush was hospitalized “as a precaution.”
