Trump vows to 'keep the Twitter going'

President Trump on Friday evening polled a celebratory audience in Washington before indicating that he would maintain his Twitter habits.

"Should I keep the Twitter going or not? Keep it going? I think so," Trump said to cheers at the Freedom Ball, one of three inaugural balls the president is attending Friday night.

"The enemies keep saying, 'Oh that's terrible,'" Trump continued, before explaining he views Twitter as "a way of bypassing dishonest media."

Trump returned to some of his campaign-style rhetoric during his brief speech, stating of the U.S. on the world stage, "We will not be taken advantage of anymore."

Official White House Twitter accounts were transitioned over Friday from President Obama to Trump.

Trump has opted to keep his @realDonaldTrump account in addition to his newly acquired @POTUS account.
