Trump supporter invited on stage salutes cardboard cutout of president every day

The man who President Trump brought up on stage during his Saturday rally said he salutes a cardboard cutout of the president every day.

“Mr. President, I’ve been with you for two years … every single second, every day, I’m with you,” Gene Huber said during an interview on CNN.

“I’ve got a 6-foot cardboard box of President Trump in my house and I salute that every single day.”

{mosads}Huber added that he prays for the president.

“I tell him, Mr. President, I pray for your safety today,” he said. “And I’m not lying. I do that every single day.”

The president on Saturday pulled Huber onto the stage at a rally, praising the supporter who Trump said had been in line since 4 a.m. that day.

“I just saw him on television. He said, ‘I love Trump; let Trump do what he has to do.’ That’s my guy, right there,” Trump said.

Huber said on CNN that he will never forget being pulled up on stage.

“I’ve never been into politics in my life, up until President Trump came down the elevator and he taught me everything,” Huber said.

Huber commended the president for the actions he has taken so far during his presidency.

“He is doing fantastic. There’s no words to describe what this man is doing,” he said.

“I love this man because he’s smart. He gets it. And he’s going to change the world.”

At the end of the interview, Huber had a piece of advice for the media.

“I appreciate the interview, but just be a little, little nicer to our president,” he said.
