MSNBC host Joe Scarborough says President Trump was being “deeply un-American” when he turned a Cabinet meeting into a “cheerleading routine.”

The "Morning Joe" host on Tuesday ripped into Trump for his Cabinet meeting a day earlier, which began with Trump having each Cabinet secretary take a turn praising him and his agenda on camera.

“Don’t make it a cheerleading session about yourself,” Scarborough said. “That’s not why Americans voted for this man.”

He added that the Cabinet members who participated “owe us more than that” and should “stand up” for themselves and “have dignity.”

Scarborough and Trump have traded insults since Trump entered the presidential race in 2015, with the MSNBC host often questioning the wisdom of Trump's moves and the president responding with tweets attacking the "Morning Joe" ratings.
