Dem senator: Trump’s foreign policy is ‘do the opposite of Obama’
Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) slammed President Trump’s foreign policy agenda on Saturday, saying Trump’s only guiding principle is “do the opposite of Obama.”
“NATO. Paris Accords. Saudi Arabia. Cuba. Trump foreign policy has only one guiding principle: do the opposite of Obama, no matter the cost,” Murphy tweeted.

Trump announced several new restrictions on travel and commercial ties between the U.S. and Cuba on Friday.
Trump’s new policy toward Cuba, which includes rolling back some of former President Barack Obama’s policies toward the island nation, was met with strong criticism from Democrats, but Republicans also hit Trump for the announcement.
Trump’s decision to withdraw the U.S. from the Paris climate change agreement earlier this month was also a rollback of a major Obama-era policy, which some Republicans pushed to leave untouched.
Hundreds of local governments have announced that they will continue to uphold the Paris agreement despite Trump’s withdrawal.
