NFL spokesman Joe Lockhart fired back at President Trump for his attacks on NFL players who kneel during the national anthem, saying their protests against racial inequality are “real locker room talk.”

Lockhart said that players today talk about issues like criminal justice reform and racial inequality, according to Yahoo Sports.

“Everyone should know, including the president, that this is what real locker room talk is,” Lockhart said.

Lockhart was referencing Trump’s defense of the infamous “Access Hollywood” tape that caught him talking about his treatment of woman.

“Grab them by the pussy," Trump could be heard saying on the tapes.

Trump later said that his comments were just “locker room talk.”

Trump has been facing intense backlash for his criticism of NFL players who kneel during the national anthem, calling for them to be fired and for people to walk out of games if they see players kneeling.

Football players across the league responded to Trump Sunday by kneeling, sitting or locking arms in solidarity during the national anthem. Three teams stayed in their locker rooms during "The Star-Spangled Banner."
