Former Obama speechwriter calls Trump ‘f------ dolt’ for Puerto Rico response

"They're not watching the news because they no longer have televisions, power, or homes, you f------ dolt," Favreau tweeted.

In a series of tweets spanning Saturday, Trump defended his administration's response to Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico and accused the media of downplaying — and even undermining — relief efforts on the island.

Trump came under scrutiny this week over his administration's relief efforts in Puerto Rico, which were ramped up Thursday, more than a week after Hurricane Maria struck the island.

Most residents remain without power, and necessities like food and fuel are scarce. Trump is set to visit Puerto Rico on Tuesday.
