According to the Daily Breeze newspaper in Torrance, Calif., the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department will deploy additional law enforcement personnel around the golf club for the speech.

Arpaio, who served as Maricopa County sheriff in Arizona for more than two decades before he lost his reelection bid last year, was convicted earlier this year of criminal contempt for ignoring a judge's order to halt his office's racial profiling practices.

Trump pardoned Arpaio, the first of his presidency, in August.
