The first lady visited the state with her husband in the days after Harvey struck the state.  

“While I am heartened by the strength and resilience of those impacted by the storms, I will continue doing all that I can to lend a voice and shine a spotlight on those who need assistance to rebuild and start new family traditions," the first lady said in a statement.

The first stop on Wednesday will be in Corpus Christi, where Trump and Pence will participate in a meet-and-greet with first responders to the storm. 

Then, the pair will be off to Rockport to meet with a family whose home was destroyed in the storm.

They will also visit a local elementary school to speak with teachers and students about the storm before heading to a food back to help sort donations.
