Chelsea Clinton calls out far-right website on school shooting survivors: Attack me instead

Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton blasted the right-wing website Gateway Pundit on Monday after the blog accused a survivor of the Parkland, Fla., shooting of being "coached" by FBI agents on what to say to reporters.

In a tweet Monday night, Clinton told Gateway Pundit reporter Jim Hoft to "return to attacking me (or really any grownup)" in response to his tweet claiming one student was "coached on anti-Trump lines" by FBI agents.

Students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, where last Wednesday's shooting killed 17 and wounded others, have responded to the mass shooting with vocal calls for gun control, making emotional pleas for action at rallies and appearances on news broadcasts.

David Hogg, the student targeted by Gateway Pundit's article, told CNN in an interview last week that the rash of mass shootings in American schools was "unacceptable."

"You need to take some action and play a role," Hogg said in a plea to D.C. lawmakers. "Work together, come over your politics and get something done."

Hogg told BuzzFeed News that Gateway Pundit's article was a testament to the "sick immaturity" of the state of U.S. politics.

"I just think it's a testament to the sick immaturity and broken state of our government when these people feel the need to pedal conspiracy theories about people that were in a school shooting where 17 people died and it just makes me sick," Hogg said.
