Disney Channel actress joins White House press team

Former Disney Channel actress Caroline Sunshine has joined the White House press office as a press assistant. 

While Sunshine starred in the Disney Channel show "Shake It Up" from 2010-2013, she has recently made her debut in the political realm as an intern for various Republican offices. 


White House spokeswoman Lindsay Walters told told CNN Sunshine has interned with House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthyKevin Owen McCarthyTrump, GOP go all-in on anti-China strategy The Hill's Morning Report - Presented by Facebook - Mnuchin: More COVID-19 congressional action ahead GOP pulls support from California House candidate over 'unacceptable' social media posts MORE (R-Calif.), the California Republican Party, and the College Republican National Committee. 

Sunshine served as a White House intern prior to garnering a permanent position.

The Trump White House has seen a number of high-level employees with television experience.

Former CNBC host Larry Kudlow recently joined the administration as Trump's chief economic adviser, while former Fox News analyst John Bolton has been tapped to be the president's national security adviser.
