A former physician to President Obama said President Trump’s ex-doctor, Harold Bornstein, “disgraced himself” by signing a “fraudulent” medical letter reportedly dictated to him by Trump.

Dr. David Scheiner, who treated Obama for more than two decades, called Bornstein’s conduct “extraordinarily unethical” and floated the idea of an investiagation in an interview with MSNBC News.

“I think it demands some kind of an investigation to see whether he should be chastised publicly by the medical society,” Scheiner added. “A document like that is an official document. A medical statement like that is not to be treated in such a fashion.”

The letter, penned in 2015, has drawn sharp criticism for painting the president’s health in allegedly unmerited glowing terms. 

“His physical strength and stamina are extraordinary,” it reads. “If elected, Mr. Trump, I can state unequivocally, will be the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency.” 

“Trump is Trump, he would write that kind of letter,” Scheiner said.
