Earlier this week, Trump Jr. said that the modern-day platform for the DNC is “awfully similar” to the Nazis' platform in the 1930s.

“Surprising views from such an accomplished scholar,” Hayden said on Twitter.

Trump Jr. made the remark on Wednesday while attending a screening of Dinesh D’Souza's “Death of a Nation: Plantation Politics and the Making of the Democratic Party” in Washington, D.C.

During the screening, Trump Jr., who leads the Trump Organization with his brother Eric, also said, “You have a bunch of kids in dreadlocks running around screaming about fascism and all these things, you’re like, ‘Wait a second, have you actually taken a history class?'”

The Hill reported earlier this week that the film made by D’Souza, a conservative commentator who was pardoned by Trump in May after pleading guilty in 2014 to making illegal campaign contributions, has been met with negative reviews by critics.
