Austin, Texas-based, Circle Brewing Co. announced on Friday that its latest seasonal beer is named after the Democratic lawmaker who is running to unseat Sen. The brew, called "Beto Beer," was made to highlight O'Rourke's race against Cruz in this year's midterms, the brewer told KFOX.

Circle Brewing said their "Election Pale" ale is meant to promote O'Rourke's campaign and to "help rally more people to go to the polls and drive an increase in voter participation."

The beer will be released later this month and available in Austin and San Antonio until November, the outlet reported.

While Cruz remains the favorite, polls have shown that O'Rourke is continuing to gain ground in his effort to unseat the GOP senator.

The Cook Political Report shifted the race from its “likely Republican” column to “lean Republican” earlier this month, saying that recent polling suggests a tighter contest.

A new Texas Lyceum poll indicated Cruz leads O'Rourke by just a 2-point margin among likely voters.

Texas has not elected a Democrat to the Senate in three decades.
