Kimmel pointed to positive tweets Trump wrote days earlier about Kim and noted that Trump on Monday received a letter from Kim requesting another summit between the two leaders.

“It’s weird that he now has a closer relationship with Kim Jong Un than he does Melania,” Kimmel said.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said during a briefing Monday that the White House is “already in the process of coordinating” a second meeting between Trump and Kim, which Sanders added is “certainly something we want to take place.”

The two leaders first met over the summer in Singapore, where Kim made a vague promise to give up his nuclear weapons in exchange for sanctions relief from the United States. No timeline was agreed to following the meeting.

But Trump has suggested that North Korea is committed to denuclearizing. He tweeted Sunday that the absence of North Korea’s most advanced missiles from its military parade was “a big and very positive statement.”

“Thank you To Chairman Kim,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “We will both prove everyone wrong! There is nothing like good dialogue from two people that like each other! Much better than before I took office.”
