Police investigate suspicious package in vehicle near Union Station
Streets near Union Station have been reopened after an investigation earlier Wednesday into suspicious luggage left inside a vehicle caused road closures in the area.
A spokesperson for the U.S. Capitol said police launched the investigation when a commercial driver requested assistance after a passenger left the vehicle without his luggage.
The investigation "cleared the vehicle and the luggage," the spokesperson said. The road closures were lifted at 7:20 p.m.
Police found the passenger inside Union Station.
Police earlier Wednesday told Roll Call that the car, which was parked on Louisiana Avenue, was "full of stuff" but did not elaborate further.
