In a tweet shared with a screenshot of Trump’s tweet, Comey also criticized Republicans for not speaking out against the president.

“This is from the President of our country, lying about the lawful execution of a search warrant issued by a federal judge,” Comey tweeted. “Shame on Republicans who don’t speak up at this moment — for the FBI, the rule of law, and the truth.”

Trump tweeted earlier Sunday that the FBI “broke into” Cohen’s office when they seized documents in April from his home, office and hotel room.

"Remember, Michael Cohen only became a 'Rat' after the FBI did something which was absolutely unthinkable & unheard of until the Witch Hunt was illegally started,” Trump tweeted. “They BROKE INTO AN ATTORNEY’S OFFICE!"

Cohen was sentenced last week to three years in prison for financial crimes committed while he worked for Trump, including campaign finance law violations that he said he committed at the direction of then-candidate Trump, tied to payments to two women who alleged affairs with Trump.
