Katrina Pierson, a senior adviser on Trump’s 2020 reelection campaign, tweeted early Wednesday morning to slam the white outfits.

“The only thing that the Democrats uniform was missing tonight is the matching hood,” Pierson tweeted.

Dozens of lawmakers appeared at the Capitol before Trump’s second State of the Union address in white outfits to honor the suffragette movement of the early 20th century.

President Trump’s 25-year-old daughter Tiffany Trump also wore the same color.

“And there’s so much more that we have to fight for,” she said before the event. "From wage equality, to paycheck fairness, to protecting ourselves and believing survivors."

Pierson was not the only conservative figure who made the comparison between the white-clad Democrats and the KKK.

The Rev. Darrell Scott, a former member of the presidential transition team, tweeted that Democrats had on their “Klan colors.”

Sean Davis, co-founder of conservative website The Federalist, alluded to the KKK reference, describing the group of majority of female Democrats participating as “a bunch of ghouls.”

“Tonight is not the first time a bunch of ghouls dressed in white denied the humanity of an entire class of people in order to continue perpetuating horrific violence against them,” Davis wrote.

Radio host Mark Simone also mocked the outfit choice, saying the group of women looked like “insane asylum attendants.”

“The Democrat women all dressed in white - to show solidarity with the Ku Klux Klan? As a tribute to Good Humor salesmen? To look like insane asylum attendants? They like dressing like Charlie Chan?” Simone wrote.

Simone also jabbed that the decision to wear all-white was inspired by Democratic Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam's yearbook photo.

Northam has faced extreme backlash after a recently resurfaced yearbook showed a man in blackface and another in a KKK robe. The photo is on Northam’s page in a 1984 yearbook from the Eastern Virginia Medical School.

Northam initially confirmed that he was one of the two people in the photograph, before reversing himself on Saturday.

The Virginia Democrat has faced calls to resign from both sides of the aisle after the photo surfaced, but he has declined to do so.
