Florida police said Tuesday that the man who planned and carried out an attack on a yoga studio late last year had a "hatred towards women."

The Orlando Sentinel reported that Tallahassee police concluded after a three-month investigation that Scott Paul Beierle was a "disturbed individual," but that they did not find evidence that he targeted anyone in particular in the November shooting.

"Although there was no specific target at the yoga studio on the night of November 2, Scott Beierle's lifetime of misogynistic attitudes caused him to attack a familiar community where he had been arrested several times for his previous violent action towards women," "Tallahassee Police Chief Michael DeLeo said.

The Sentinel reported that police found Beierle had a pattern of sexual misconduct, had accessed yoga-related pornography and had misogynistic writings that included themes of rape, torture and murder.

Beierle killed two people and injured five others when he opened fire at a Tallahassee yoga studio. He died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police and authorities said following the shooting that members of the yoga class fought back against Beierle before he killed himself.
