More than 30 gravestones at a Jewish cemetery in Massachusetts were vandalized with swastikas and anti-Semitic graffiti over the weekend.
The Herald News reports that gravestones at the Hebrew Cemetery in Fall River, Mass., were covered with anti-Semitic messages, including “heil Hitler” and “Hitler was right.”
Another gravestone in the cemetery reportedly had the words “Oy vey! The Fall River Police Department found the graffiti Sunday following a tip that a car had been parked at the cemetery for two days, Sgt. J.T. Hoar told the local news outlet.
Police said they are conducting an investigation and no arrests have been made.
The Herald News reports a veteran's gravestone was among the many vandalized and was found with an ethnic slur written on it.
Other gravestones were reportedly found with the words “Day of the Rope,” which the Herald noted is a reference to “The Turner Diaries.” The novel is popular with the alt-right and tells the story of a white supremacist army that overthrows the government.
