The phrase is a reference to a now-viral moment that occurred during a campaign event for the candidate last month in Ohio, when a woman briefly interrupted Gillibrand in search of ranch dressing.
The woman, later identified as University of Iowa student Hanna Kinney and also known as “ranch girl”, became an internet sensation following the viral clip and was even profiled in the Washington Post.
She can be heard in the clip saying she is "just trying to get some ranch" as she passes behind Gillibrand, which was met with immediate laughter.

Part of an already crowded Democratic presidential candidate field, Gillibrand is using the moment to inject some humor into what is sure to be a hard-fought campaign.
