A husband and wife from Texas were each sentenced to 60 years in prison on Wednesday after admitting last year to uploading videos of themselves sexually assaulting children.

Christopher Almaguer, 26, and Sarah Rashelle Almaguer, 27, were sentenced on charges of sexual exploitation of children and production of child pornography, CNN reported, citing the Department of Justice (DOJ). They pleaded guilty last October.

"These are two of the most wicked criminals in Texas history," John Bash, the U.S. attorney for the Western District of Texas, said in a statement, according to CNN.

Bash said the couple preyed on "children from the neighborhood, children from church, children they babysat."

The couple admitted last year to uploading the videos in December 2017, according to DOJ. Prosecutors said they believe there are at least 25 potential victims ranging from 8 months to 14 years old.

In addition to their prison terms, U.S. District Judge Alan Albright ordered the couple to both pay $10,000 to the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Fund and be placed on supervised release for the rest of their lives after they leave prison.
