At least 1 killed in Houthi attack on Saudi airport: coalition

One person was killed and seven were injured in an attack on a Saudi airport by Houthi rebels, The Associated Press reported Sunday. 

A spokesman for the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen said the airport was struck Sunday night, the AP reported, citing the state Saudi Press Agency.


Col. Turki al-Maliki did not specify what weapon was used. The person killed was a Syrian national living in Saudi Arabia, according to the press agency.

Houthi spokesman Yahia al-Sarie also said Sunday that Houthi rebels sent conducted drone attacks on Saudi airports in  Abha and Jizan, according to the wire service. 

Less than two weeks ago, 26 people were wounded after the airport in Abha was struck by a Houthi missile, according to multiple reports.
