The freshman lawmaker and progressive star joined the late-night host for an interview following the first round of Democratic primary debates.

The chants Wednesday night showcase Ocasio-Cortez’s popularity among the progressive base, an appeal that has thus far been unmatched by any other freshman House member.

During her House campaign last year and her swearing-in in January, Ocasio-Cortez has sought to push the party further left on a host of issues, including climate change, health care and immigration.

Ocasio-Cortez has helped spearhead the fight for Congress to pass the Green New Deal, her sweeping plan to combat climate change.
