Illinois lawmaker gets pooped on by pigeon while discussing pigeon poop problem

A state lawmaker in Illinois was pooped on by a pigeon while he was discussing the ongoing pigeon poop problem at a local transit station in Chicago.

In footage of the interview with CBS Chicago, state Rep. Jaime Andrade (D) was discussing the issue of pigeon droppings plaguing the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) stop when he became a target himself.

{mosads}“Did I just get – I did, didn’t I?” Andrade could be seen saying in footage of the interview as he began to wipe the back of his head.

“I’ll just have to go clean up,” Andrade continued. “That’s what happens to my constituents. They get shit on all time.”

According to CBS Chicago, bird droppings have long been a problem for commuters at the local Irving Park Blue Line station, which has reportedly been dubbed the “pigeon poop station.”

The CTA has reportedly installed bird spikes at the stop in efforts to deter the birds, but the move did little to combat the problem.

Derek Barthel, who commutes at the stop, told the station that the problem is “not funny at all when you have pets at home and you have to keep your shoes away from them.”

Barthel, who had complained about the problem to local media earlier this year, said that officials cleaned the station “as result of the first news story, and then nothing at all happened.”

“There was no washings in between then and a month later when I complained again on social media,” he added.

Andrade said he is working on securing funds to handle the problem.
