Two people are dead and eight others are injured after at least one person reportedly opened fire near a South Carolina bar early Saturday.

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office told CNN that the shooting took place at the Ole Skool sports bar around 2:45 a.m. The bar was said to be crowded around that time, and authorities say shots were fired inside and outside the establishment.

Four people were airlifted to nearby medical centers for treatment, and their conditions were not immediately known, a spokesman told CNN. The other four gunshot victims suffered noncritical injuries and were treated at a nearby hospital.

Another individual was injured when they fell at the bar, and they have since been released from a medical facility after being treated for their injures.

It is unclear if anyone has been arrested in connection with the incident, and authorities haven’t yet determined what led to the shooting, CNN reports.

"The shooter or shooters are out there," Lancaster County Sheriff Barry Faile told the network. "We need to talk with everybody who was at the club ... and I encourage those witnesses to contact us immediately."
