Could Sharron Angle be a player in the crowded Republican primary to face Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.)?

The former Nevada assemblywoman told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that she has raised about $215,000 -- a number that would put her right up there with one of two frontrunners, Danny Tarkanian. About $35,000 of that appears to have come in the second quarter, as Angle was among the early entrants in the race.

A recent Mason-Dixon poll that had Tarkanian at 21 percent and former state party Chairwoman Sue Lowden at 23 percent, put Angle third at 9 percent.

Angle also narrowly lost a GOP primary in one of just three congressional districts in the state in 2006, falling to Rep. Dean Heller (R-Nev.) by fewer than 500 votes.
