A Suffolk University poll that showed New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine (D) darting ahead of Republican Chris Christie (R) by 9 percent Monday appears to be an outlier.

A Public Policy Polling (D) survey today reaffirms other polling that showed the race within the margin of error. The new PPP poll shows Christie ahead by four points, 42-38, with independent Chris Daggett at 13 percent.

Apart from the Suffolk poll, Pollster.com has the last 15 surveys showing the race within four points -- which is generally about the margin of error.

Suffolk, which hadn't previously polled the race, also had Daggett lower than any other recent poll, at 7 percent.

The race is now one week away, on Nov. 3.

UPDATE: PPP now has Bob McDonnell (R) up 55-40 in Virginia.
