The consensus on global warming is so overwhelming that it's "not a question for debate," Al Gore said today.

"It's like global warming; it exists," Gore told MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell in an interview.

The former Vice President hit back at climate change skeptics, whom he said "persist in this air of unreality."

Gore also said the ClimateGate emails had been blown out of proportion, and do not undermine the consensus about climate change.

"These private exchanges have been blown out of proportion, taken out of context, misrepresented," Gore said.
