Barbara Bush: I hope Palin stays in Alaska

Former First Lady Barbara Bush told CNN’s Larry King during an interview that will air Monday night that she hopes Sarah Palin stays in Alaska.

When asked for her read on Palin by King, Bush offered the following take:

“I sat next to her once, thought she was beautiful,” Bush said. “And I think she’s very happy in Alaska, and I hope she’ll stay there.”

She also said she loves Decision Points, the recently published book by her son, former President George W. Bush.

“I loved the book, I thought it was very frank,” Bush said. “He’s not trying to write a biography, he’s trying to tell how it is in the White House.”

According to the clip, Bush’s husband, President George H.W. Bush, also said he likes his son’s book and said he doesn’t really understand how the Tea Party fits into politics.

“I don’t know really what it is, Larry,” President Bush said.

“I’m confused by it, frankly,” he added before concluding, “I think it’s all right.”
