Delaware Lt. Gov. Matt Denn (D) isn't rethinking his decision not to run for federal office in 2010.

In a statement provided to The Hill, Denn said his family situation won't allow him to take up his party's cause in the state's Senate race.

"I have told party officials and reporters in Delaware for many months that I would not be a candidate for any federal office in 2010, no matter what," Denn said. "I have two five-year-old sons who need to have their dad at home. That's what I was saying before we knew who the Republican candidate would be or who the Democratic candidate would not be."

Beau Biden said Monday that he won't run for the seat. New Castle County Executive Chris Coons is likely to be at the top of the party's list of potential candidates now.
