Now that health care reform has been signed into law, one of the President's leading spokespersons on the matter is leaving the White House.

Linda Douglass, a former Washington correspondent for ABC News who became Director of Communications for the White House Office of Health Reform, will step down from the position next week.

Washington Post media writer Howard Kurtz first broke the news Thursday from Twitter account @HowardKurtz, tweeting:

Linda Douglass, the ABC correspondent who became Obama's health care spokeswoman, leaving WH next week. Mission accomplished?

Douglass also served as a spokesperson for Obama's presidential campaign and inauguration committee.
