Richard Blumenthal has finally said "sorry" for mischaracterizing his military service.

At his press conference last week, the Connecticut attorney general expressed "regret" for his "misplaced words," but never actually said the "S" word.

Sunday night, his campaign sent a statement to the Hartford Courant in which the attorney general finally apologized.

"I have made mistakes and I am sorry. I truly regret offending anyone,'' the beleaguered Blumenthal said. "I will always champion the cause of Connecticut's and our nation's veterans."
