Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) will decline a chance to run for mayor of New York City this year, according to reports.

Weiner, who'd long been rumored a leading candidate for the Democratic nomination, had been more coy about his aspirations since incumbent Mayor Mike Bloomberg (R) got the go-ahead to run for a third term in office.

Weiner will formally announce his intentions at a press conference Wednesday, New York's City Hall News reported.
