The new Siena Research poll on the special election for Sen. First, the Republican in the race, New York Assemblyman Jim Tedisco, wasted little time disputing the poll, which shows Democrat Scott Murphy having a 4-point lead.

Now, the New York Democrats have issued their own statement. State party Chairwoman June O'Neill says the the poll is a reflection of Murphy's momentum.

Tedisco and Murphy square off in the special election next Tuesday.
